Before I changed my ID marker, I used to get detained for up to three hours, singled out and taken off buses/trains, thoroughly searched etc. Ever. Single. Time.

Now that I managed to change the marker on my passport (thanks to a glaring error on the part of the State Department, at that!) I have not been detained, stopped or search a single time. Not once!

Strange, eh?Sadie-Ryannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15032876398720376575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1840022797230622882.post-18269637966874296422010-03-13T03:27:35.041-05:002010-03-13T03:27:35.041-05:00I've been discriminated against for a simple d...I've been discriminated against for a simple difference of opinion, I have no doubt you were singled out by that guard for being somehow "not right" in her eyes. Getting complacent is easy until you find yourself being treated poorly because of something the other party doesn't agree with.

*coughs politely and curtsies*Penny Marie Sautereauhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03954378927871092503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1840022797230622882.post-86264069039370530422010-03-13T02:33:24.554-05:002010-03-13T02:33:24.554-05:00Yes, that's exactly it isn't it? And you'd be a trouble causer for even bringing it up. :(

In fact, sometimes kyriarchy works in such a way that you aren't even sure yourself whether or not what you've experienced is discrimination.Rosemary Cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12204378986946967049noreply@blogger.com
